How to use this routine

Niacinamide can support a daily routine while Salicylic Acid stays at a controlled weekly frequency. The goal is not to use both as often as possible, but to track whether the exfoliating product improves the target without persistent dryness or redness.

Why this structure?

Salicylic Acid format, contact time and weekly exposure drive irritation. Keeping Niacinamide stable before adding the acid makes next-day dryness easier to attribute. A moisturizer remains necessary even when the Niacinamide product feels hydrating.

Who may find this useful?

  • People introducing a leave-on Salicylic Acid product
  • People who already tolerate a simple Niacinamide product
  • People who need a clear weekly exfoliation count

How to track reactions

  • List every cleanser, toner, serum and spot product that contains Salicylic Acid or another exfoliating acid.
  • Record tightness, flaking and redness the next morning after an acid night.
  • Do not count temporary tingling or dryness as proof of faster results.
  • Keep picking, scrubs and other friction out of the observation period.

Main precautions

  • Do not stack leave-on acids, scrubs and an acid cleanser without counting total exposure.
  • A Niacinamide product can still sting when its concentration or full formula is unsuitable.
  • Persistent burning, swelling, cracking or widespread peeling requires stopping the new active.
  • Seek qualified advice for painful, severe or persistent acne or rash-like changes.

How to adjust

  • Switch to a rinse-off format or lower frequency when leave-on use remains too drying.
  • Use Niacinamide at a different time of day if same-routine layers pill or sting.
  • Keep at least one recovery night after every Salicylic Acid night during introduction.
  • Treat a stronger concentration or new vehicle as a new product.

Next step

What changes after four weeks?

If one or two Salicylic Acid uses weekly remain comfortable, keep the same schedule or add only one extra non-consecutive use. Do not increase acid exposure because Niacinamide or moisturizer reduces immediate tightness.
