Before you start
How to use this routine
Direct human evidence tested a specified finished solution containing L-Ascorbic Acid, alpha-Tocopherol and Ferulic Acid. It did not test three separate products. Choose one clearly labelled, appropriately packaged finished formula, start every other day or once daily, then use only the moisturizer you need and broad-spectrum sunscreen. A Vitamin C derivative, Tocopheryl Acetate or a product without exact Ferulic Acid is a different formula identity and cannot automatically inherit the CEFer study.
Why this structure?
One antioxidant step reduces pH, solvent, oxidation and pilling variables. Sunscreen remains the final daily step because an antioxidant serum does not provide SPF or replace even broad-spectrum coverage. Moisturizer is one needs-based step; reduce layers when the antioxidant product already has a cream texture.
Who may find this useful?
- People with a stable sunscreen habit
- People simplifying a morning antioxidant routine
- People who can confirm the exact finished-product INCI

Weekly schedule
- Weeks 1 and 2
- Use one finished antioxidant product every other morning.
- Weeks 3 and 4
- Add one morning only if there is no persistent irritation or pilling.
- Every day
- Finish with broad-spectrum sunscreen, including serum-free days.
How to track reactions
- Record opening date, product colour, odour and storage location.
- Separate brief sensation from persistent burning, itching, swelling or redness.
- Check whether sunscreen spreads evenly; reduce serum amount or layers when it pills.
- Change frequency or moisturizer, not both in the same week.
Main precautions
- Do not mix raw materials or recreate study proportions.
- An antioxidant product does not replace sunscreen.
- Keep Tocopherol, Tocopheryl Acetate and broad vitamin E identities separate.
- Stop for persistent burning, itching, swelling or a rash.
How to adjust
- Sensitive skin may start on two or three mornings weekly.
- Reduce serum amount or skip extra moisturizer when sunscreen pills.
- Follow brand guidance for marked colour, odour or texture changes.
- A formula containing only one or two ingredients cannot borrow the three-antioxidant direct study.
Next step
What changes after four weeks?
After four comfortable weeks of every-other-day use, follow the finished-product directions if you want to use it on more mornings. Daily use is not required. Keep the lower frequency, simplify or stop when stinging, pilling or uneven sunscreen application continues.
