What is Gluconolactone?

Gluconolactone is a distinct cosmetic INCI. It is commonly grouped under PHA or Polyhydroxy Acid, but the category includes other materials. A product labelled only PHA therefore cannot map automatically to Gluconolactone in the checker. Human work used specified solutions and sites, while CIR assessed a wider glycolactone group; neither creates one rule for every PHA serum.

Suggested use

Confirm Gluconolactone in the complete INCI. When it is the main exfoliation claim, start once or twice weekly. When it appears as a supporting ingredient in a moisturizer, follow the whole product directions. Do not add AHA, BHA, Retinol or Retinal on the same introductory evening.
